The turbulent movement of earth crust of hundreds of million years ago had endowed Ninh Binh a unique nature with labyrinth of cave, mountain, lake, and historical relics. Visiting Trang An, you will put your mind at rest in peaceful atmosphere like in the heaven.
Covering an area of nearly 2,000 hectares, Trang An scenic landscape complex is divided into 5 areas: special reservation area (ancient capital of Hoa Lu), core area, cave area, tourism service areas, and spiritual tourism area of Bai Binh pagoda mountain.
 
There are 47 historical relics with numerous caves inside stunning limestone karst mountain ranges. The lyric and picturesque landscape of Trang An is the harmonic combination of mountain, valley, and system of lakes. 
  
Just setting foot in Trang An, visitor feel the mysterious nature of Trang An, you soon find yourself lost in labyrinth of cave. Trang an features with various caves that has undergone impacts of time, and weather, decorating with unique shape of stalactites and stalagmites. The system of interconnected cave comprises 30 valleys, each valley is a amazing picture of multiform of mountain, river and nature.
 
Floating in the small boat in green and fresh lake, visitor will be amazed by shade of mountain range reflects in fresh lake surface, various kind of wild flowers bloom and color dark rock cliff, some goats finding food flicker under branch of trees…
 
50 submerged caves act as gateway leading to other valley in total span of 20km long. Some caves like Dark cave (Toi cave) is 315meter long, 60m high. With numerous cave named Three drop (Ba giot), Seo, Lo, Dot, Dai Linh, Ao trai, Nau ruou (wine making) wine….All of them have different features creates Trang An an attractive system of cave. The sparkling of stalactites and stalagmites with unique shapes inside each cave dazzles visitors.
 
Moreover, Trang An owns diverse ecological system. It is surrounded by primary forest with variety of floral and animal system including 310 types of tracheophyta, many kinds of fungi, moss, algae. Some rare trees like Dalbergia tonkinensis, Chukrasia tabularis, Burretiodendron hsienmu….Over 30 animals, 50 types of birds, reptiles, especially rare animals like Capricornis sumatraensis, Neofelis nebulosa, white chest gibbon, Buceros bicornis…
